George Floyd was a man, made in the image of God. He was a man, made in the image of God that did not deserve to die. The cops that killed him need to be held accountable for their actions. I’m not just talking about being fired from their jobs. They killed a man in cold blood. There needs to be justice. They need to be charged with manslaughter because that’s exactly what they did. They slaughtered a man, a man, made in the image of God. To my black brothers and sisters, I’m sorry. I’m grieving with you. I love you. I’m with you.
To those protesting, please continue to protest, please continue to pray, and please continue to plea for justice. I support you and I am praying for justice with you.
To those looting and rioting, is this really about George anymore? Businesses are being destroyed and more importantly, more people, that are also made in the image of God, are being injured and some have even been killed.
To my Christian brothers and sisters, we are called to be peacemakers. I realize that there isn’t peace until there is justice. We need to keep grieving over the injustice in this world. We need to keep having these conversations. More importantly, we need to keep praying. There are corrupt men and women in this world and nothing will change their hearts except for God.
Above all, let us remember that no sin goes unanswered for. Ultimately, God will bring justice.
“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.'”
